Bernard’s Petek Quiz Party questions and answers:

1. Cost of living: what is Otzma's main answer? More direct spending on people (minimum wage, pensions, public housing), breaking up the monopolies and opening imports, cutting taxes and shrinking the state, or something else?

**Otzma believes in a free economy with less bureaucracy.**

2. Schools: should state-funded schools, Haredi schools included, have to teach the core curriculum (maths, English, science)? If a school won't, should it lose its funding?

**Every child should learn maths and English. But threats and funding cuts won't get us there. We'll get further with incentives and by working with Haredi leaders.**

3. The Haredi draft: should Haredi men who study Torah full time be exempt? For those who aren't studying and don't enlist, what should happen: arrests, loss of benefits, or neither?

**Full-time Torah study is part of the nation's strength. We oppose arrests, because coercion doesn't work. Otzma has shown that Haredim can - and will - serve meaningfully: we built Haredi tracks in the police and Border Police that protect Shabbat, kashrut, prayer and Torah study. And we'll make sure those who serve, especially reservists and their families, get the recognition and support they've earned.**

4. October 7: who should investigate the failures? A state commission whose members the Supreme Court president names, a commission the Knesset names, or an inquiry the government sets up?

**We oppose a commission whose members are picked by the Supreme Court president. The inquiry must be independent of the judiciary, examine every level, assess the problem by looking back beyond October 7th to prior decisions that led to it, and include an investigation of the Attorney General's office.**

5. The courts: does Otzma support an override clause, letting the Knesset re-pass a law the Supreme Court strikes down? Is the 2025 law on choosing judges enough, or does Otzma want more?

**The 2025 law isn't enough. We want Knesset hearings for Supreme Court nominees, with two-thirds approval in the Constitution Committee. We also want to limit the High Court's powers and replace the Attorney General.**

6. Gaza: after the war, what does Otzma want: Gazans encouraged to emigrate, Jewish towns rebuilt there, Israeli sovereignty, or a mix? If a mix, what comes first?

**A mix, starting with voluntary emigration. Our "Disengagement 710" plan sets up a dedicated ministry to help Gazans who want to leave move to countries willing to take them. After that, Jewish towns can return and Israel keeps sovereignty and full security control. There will be no Palestinian state.**

7. Same-sex couples: should they be able to register as partners (a civil union), or should the law stay as it is?

**The law should stay as it is.**

Anything else you'd like voters to know about where Otzma stands is welcome too.

**Otzma's main priorities are security and Jewish strength. That means the death penalty for terrorists, prison reform, and armed readiness squads in every community. It means freeing our soldiers to win instead of "containing" terror, encouraging emigration from Gaza, fixing the justice system, strengthening Jewish identity, and building a fully right-wing government, with Itamar Ben-Gvir as Defense Minister.**
